Minor Formatting Updates September 16, 2026

Estate tax exemption amount corrected. The Washington estate tax exemption in probate client letters now reads $3 million. Applies to:

• Letter to Client regarding Taxes
• Letter to Client re Valuing Assets
• Nonprobate Letter to Client re Taxes
• Nonprobate Letter to Client re Valuing Assets

Resident-agent block — several cleanups

• Petition, Appointment of Resident Agent, and Order to Open Probate — orphan comma fixed. If the resident-agent selection isn't made in the interview, these documents now render a visible fill-in line where the agent's name should go, instead of an easy-to-miss bare comma. For example, in the Petition:

  "…but appoints _______________, as their Resident Agent under RCW 11.36.010."

• Order to Open Probate — missing "who" restored. The resident-agent recital now reads:

  "…the attorney of record for the estate, who is able and willing to serve."

  Previously the sentence had two finite verbs with no join: "…estate is able and willing to serve".

• Appointment of Resident Agent — attorney branch rewritten. When the firm's attorney serves as the resident agent, the appointment is now stated once with the address next to the attorney name and the RCW citation at the end.

  
  Also updated the City, State ZIP line to standard US format (no comma between state and ZIP).
  
  

Personal Representative's own address on party-notice letters. When a party-notice letter goes to the Personal Representative themselves, the address block now renders from the reliable Client Information tab fields. Applies to:

• Letter Delivering Notice of Declaration of Completion
• Letter mailing notice of appointment to probate parties
• Nonprobate Letter to Beneficiaries re Notice Agent Agreement
• Declaration of Mailing NOA to Probate Parties

Salutation field — clearer prompt and visible blank

• The interview caption for the Salutation field now reads:"Salutation for letters (the name after Dear - e.g. Bob)" — making it obvious the field is for the name alone, not the whole greeting. Previously read "Salutation for letters (Dear _____)", which some users read as an invitation to type "Dear Bob" — producing "Dear Dear Bob" in the assembled letter.

• When the Salutation is left blank, three client-bound letters now show a visible fill-in line ("Dear _______________:") instead of collapsing to "Dear :" — the missing salutation is now visible before the letter goes out. Applies to:
  • Letter Delivering Notice of Declaration of Completion
  • Letter Mailing Notice of Hearing to Probate Parties
  • Letter to Parties to Sign Receipt and Waiver

Creditor letter formatting. The due-diligence bullet list in the "Notice Given" creditor letters (both regular and non-probate) no longer leaves an empty bullet (a stray "•.") when the conditional mail-forwarding step doesn't apply.
