How Agile EP Templates Are Designed and Maintained

Agile EP templates are built to reflect thoughtful drafting, current practice standards, and internal consistency across coordinated estate planning documents. Our goal is to provide attorneys with a reliable foundation for high-quality planning while still allowing flexibility for individual drafting styles.

Estate planning documents and probate pleadings operate as integrated systems. For example, provisions in wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other documents frequently depend on each other. For that reason, Agile EP templates are designed to function together as a coordinated planning package.

At the same time, we recognize that every attorney brings their own judgment, experience, and drafting preferences to their practice. Agile EP is designed to support that professional judgment, not to replace it.

Why Our Templates Are Standardized

Our templates follow a consistent structure to help ensure:

  • Internal consistency across related documents
  • Logical coordination between provisions
  • Reliable document assembly through guided interviews
  • Structural integrity across a complete planning package

Because documents are often interconnected, even small changes can affect other provisions. A standardized framework helps preserve drafting cohesion and reduce unintended inconsistencies.

How We Keep Templates Current

Agile EP templates are continuously reviewed and updated to reflect:

  • Changes in statutes and case law

  • Evolving practice methods or custom

  • Practical drafting improvements

  • Feedback from experienced practitioners

Many refinements to Agile EP have come directly from thoughtful suggestions by attorneys using the platform. This collaboration helps ensure the templates remain practical, current, and aligned with real-world planning needs.

How to Suggest Language or New Documents

We welcome suggestions from users who see opportunities to improve language or expand the available documents.

If there is language you would like to see added — or a document you believe should be included — you can share it in two ways.

Email Support

Send your suggested language to support@agile.com, including:

  • The product (e.g., Washington Estate Planning, Probate, etc.)

  • The specific document

  • Where the language should appear

  • Any helpful context or explanation

The more detail you provide, the easier it is for us to evaluate the suggestion.

Post in the Agile EP Forums

You can also submit suggestions through the Agile EP Forums, available from the Help Center home page

Navigate to: Help Center > Agile EP Forums > Community Ideas and login to to the Help Center be able to post. (This is a different login from your Agile EP account login).

Select the appropriate state and product, and post your suggestion there. Other users can review and support ideas, which helps us identify improvements that benefit the broader community.

Editing Assembled Documents

After assembling and downloading a document, you are free to edit it as needed.

Many firms choose to:

  • Add firm-specific clauses

  • Adjust language to match drafting preferences

  • Modify formatting

  • Tailor provisions for particular client circumstances

The downloaded document becomes your working draft. Agile EP provides the drafting foundation, while attorneys apply their professional judgment to finalize documents for each client.
